More than one billion people in the world live without access to clean water! Here in Canada, this is hard to believe since we are privileged with clean, lakes, rivers, streams and ponds. However, this image is quickly becoming a romantic idea of the past, as climate change, pollution, trans-boundary water conflicts and population put a great strain on our water resources. Countries in the Global South are already suffering from the consequence of limited or no access to clean water. This is an important issue since "Water is Life!"
I am a graduate student, global citizen and concerned individual who has made it my passion and drive to work on water governance issues, as a means of easing the possibility for universal water access for all people. Learn more about current water issues in the Water Resources section or browse the collection of relevant links. Conservation, awareness and courage is what will help in the process of strengthening the right to Clean Water...Drop by Drop. |
